Take A Seat

I chose to present you the project – “Take-A-Seat” chair by Jelte van Geest of Eindhoven Design Academy which provides a very simple solution to the problem of finding a place for rest when visiting the library.

How do you ensure yourself with a place to sit? The solution is pretty simple – by making the chair follow you around the stacks. These robotic library chairs simply follow you wherever you go.

By showing your library card in front of a chair, you activate the chair to closely follow you through the library. This practical solution can save you time and efforts in the library so that you can concentrate better on your studies. Once you leave the range of its service the chair will return to its original spot to offer its services to the next person.

Some might find these interactive mobile chairs a little creepy, but they also provide simple yet smart solution to the problem.
